After a stellar career at EBM that spans over 35 years, it is with mixed emotions that we announce Steve Sparkes’ journey into retirement now begins.
Having commenced his illustrious insurance career in 1986, Steve joined EBM as an Account Manager in 1988 and continued to progress through various roles culminating in his current role as Director – Broking. Over the years, he cultivated his extensive expertise across various industries, including jewellers block, trades, mining and resources, exploration risks, D&O liability and medical malpractice to name just a few.
Steve’s exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment led to a significant milestone in his career when he became a member of the EBM Board of Directors in 2014. Alan Bishop, EBM Executive Chairman expressed: “As a board member, Steve has provided a wealth of experience, strategic insight, and passion for excellence, further enhancing EBM’s vision and mission. He will be greatly missed by us all.”
Ward Dedman, EBM CEO and Executive Director shared: “Steve’s unparalleled technical expertise and adeptness in manoeuvring through intricate insurance and industry issues have played a pivotal role at EBM. Steve is also highly regarded for his mentorship, willingness to generously share his extensive knowledge and experience with others. We are immensely grateful for the hard work, passion and commitment Steve has shown over the years. Please join us in congratulating Steve on his well-deserved retirement and expressing our deepest gratitude for his invaluable contributions.
We wish Steve all the best as he embarks on this new chapter of his life. Steve plans to spend more time exploring his personal interests with his wife Jo, together with his family. No doubt he will be found surfing at his local beach, on a camping adventure and further exploring his love of animals in the years ahead!
